Modern cataract surgery is a quick, safe daycare outpatient procedure. It is performed under local numbing eye drops, meaning you will experience minimal to no discomfort and can return home the same day.

At Dr Jocelyn eye clinic, we provide services for cataract surgery under local anesthesia as well as general anesthesia. We strive to provide a comfortable journey throughout the procedure.

Diabetic patients should undergo a comprehensive retinal examination at least once a year. Some may require earlier follow-ups to prevent visual loss. Many diabetes-related eye complications develop silently without symptoms in the early stages, leading to blur vision and visual loss. Therefore, regular eye checks are important to prevent vision loss. We believe that prevention is better than cure. Early screening saves sight.

During office hours, walk-in clinic is available. Call +60103700180 for urgent appointment. After office hours, you can walk straight into our 24-hour service at KPJ Klang to request for Dr Jocelyn for prompt specialist assessment, trauma exploration, and foreign body removal.

Yes. Dr Jocelyn Wu provides comprehensive pediatric eye care and personalized myopia control strategies to slow down the progression of high myopia in young children.

You should seek an urgent eye examination if you experience any of the following:

  • A sudden increase in floaters, particularly if they appear as a shower of black spots or cobwebs.
  • Sudden onset of flashes of light
  • A dark curtain or shadow coming across part of your vision (this may indicate a retinal detachment and is an emergency).
  • Sudden blurred or distorted vision, especially if it worsens over hours or days.
  • Loss of peripheral (side) vision.

In other situations, retinal laser may be recommended even if you have no symptoms, such as:

  • A retinal tear or hole found during a routine eye examination.
  • Diabetic retinopathy with retinal ischemia or proliferative diabetic retinopathy.
  • Retinal vein occlusion with areas of poor blood flow.
  • Certain peripheral retinal degenerations (e.g. lattice degeneration) if associated with retinal tears or if you're at high risk.
